Instructions

Prepare the Dry Ingredients

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Make the Dough

  1. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add Egg and Extracts: Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until smooth.
  3. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fold in Cherries and Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chopped dried cherries and chocolate chips.

Shape and Bake

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Shape Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Cool and Serve
