Cranberry Cream Cheese Spread

  • Author: Shirley
  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Spread

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (coarsely chopped; you can also use dried cranberries)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Salt to taste (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Chop the Cranberries: If using fresh cranberries, coarsely chop them and set aside. If using dried cranberries, chop them finely.
  2. Soften the Cream Cheese: Ensure that the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.

Mix the Spread

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and ground cinnamon (if using).
  2. Mix Until Smooth: Using a hand mixer or spatula, mix the ingredients until well combined and creamy, adjusting the sugar to taste. Add salt if desired.

Chill and Serve

  1. Refrigerate: For best flavor, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Serve: Transfer the spread to a serving dish or shape it into a log and roll it in chopped nuts for a decorative touch. Serve with your choice of crackers, bread, or fresh fruit.
