  • Author: Shirley
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano, chopped (or 2 tablespoons dried oregano)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-style)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Season Shrimp: In a large bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Spread the shrimp evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Make the Topping

  1. Mix Topping Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until the breadcrumbs are well coated with oil.
  2. Top the Shrimp: Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the shrimp in the baking dish.

Bake the Dish

  1. Bake Shrimp Oreganata: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, and the topping is golden brown.
  2. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with lemon wedges for an extra burst of flavor.
