For the Loaf

    • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

    • ¾ cup granulated sugar

    • 2 teaspoons baking powder

    • ⅓ teaspoon salt

    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

    • ¾ cup milk

    • ⅓ cup vegetable oil

    • 1 large egg

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

    • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

    • ½ cup powdered sugar

    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  1. Preheat the Oven
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a standard loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Make the Batter
    Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Bake the Loaf
    Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Add Cinnamon Sugar Coating
    Let the loaf cool slightly.
    Brush the top with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon.
  7. Cool & Serve
    Allow to cool before slicing for the best texture.
