Instructions
- Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish. - Mix butter and sugar
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. - Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well. - Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder, flour, and salt. - Combine mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until smooth. - Add chocolate chips
Fold in chocolate chips if using. - Bake the pie
Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish and bake for 25–30 minutes. The edges should be set while the center remains slightly soft and fudgy. - Cool slightly
Let the pie cool for about 10–15 minutes before serving. - Add toppings
Serve warm with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
