  • 1 oz (30ml) freshly brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 oz (15ml) pumpkin spice syrup (see below)
  • Ice cubes

For the Pumpkin Spice Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin purée
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Garnishes:

  • Pumpkin spice or ground cinnamon for dusting
  • Coffee beans for decoration
  • Whipped cream for extra indulgence

Instructions

Make the Pumpkin Spice Syrup

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, mix the water, sugar, pumpkin purée, and pumpkin pie spice.
  2. Heat and Stir: Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract and remove from heat.
  4. Cool and Strain: Let the syrup cool, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any solids.

Prepare the Cocktail

  1. Add Ingredients to Shaker: In a cocktail shaker, combine, coffee liqueur, espresso, and pumpkin spice syrup. Fill with ice.
  2. Shake Vigorously: Shake for about 20 seconds, until the mixture is well-chilled and frothy.
  3. Strain into Glass: Strain into a chilled martini glass.

Garnish

  1. Dust with Pumpkin Spice: Lightly dust the top with pumpkin spice or ground cinnamon.
  2. Add Coffee Beans or Whipped Cream (Optional): For a decorative touch, place a few coffee beans on top or add a dollop of whipped cream.
